WHAT WE DO

Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT)

We utilize Pipe Wizard phased array system to provide our customers with today’s most conventional Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) girth weld inspection services.

Pipes are girth-welded on-site using an automated welding system. This world-class system enables advanced inspection techniques and real-time reporting, so the same equipment can be used for high-production and specialized weld inspections.

Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)'

Stay ahead of your competition with our phased array ultrasonic testing. This mode of inspection deploys a focused, high-resolution beam into a structure, such as a pipe or a vessel, to identify potential discontinuities.

Phased array inspection is highly advanced to replace radiography, thereby reducing radiation risk. This nondestructive testing method, furthermore allows our technicians to determine thickness, identify weld defects, or inspect materials for potentially detrimental discontinuities.

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

We use the magnetic particle inspection method to identify defects on the surface/subsurface of ferromagnetic materials. To begin this inspection, we run a magnetic current through the material that is being inspected. When the current is interrupted by a defect, magnetism spreads out from that point, indicating its presence and allowing our inspectors to identify its location in the material.

Magnetic Particle Inspection is a nondestructive inspection and is commonly used on forgings, castings, weldments, fasteners, and machined or stamped parts.

Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI)

Detect surface breaking flaws with our dye penetrant inspection. This non-destructive testing technique is cost-effectively intended to detect discontinuities that are open to the test surface and free from contaminants.

Dye penetrant inspection is most commonly used to detect defects in castings, forgings, and weldments. The method is also useful for testing on-site as it is portable.

Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD)

We complement phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) using the time of flight diffraction test.

This form of advanced testing technique is used to evaluate assets for flaws and defects. Its most significant distinction is the use of two wide beam probes in transmitter-receiver mode to achieve 100% accuracy in depth and location of defects.

Calibration Services

Our calibration services are services carried out with which any deviations and inaccuracies of measuring instruments and dimensional standards are detected and corrected.

With the use of high-quality fixed pipe and mobile master calibration systems, instrumentation equipment is being checked and monitored for inaccuracies. This service is aimed at reducing the risk of large financial losses and low customer satisfaction.

Trainings

With our in-house dedicated level III personnel, we offer detailed & extensive training covering a wide range of NDT methods (conventional and advanced), enabling trainees to be certified to NDT level I & II according to SNT-TC-1A.

Our Operations

AKK Pipeline Weld Inspection

With the aim to encourage gas utilization and serve as a springboard for the nation’s industrialization, the ongoing AKK (Ajaokuta Kaduna Kano) Pipeline Project will drive the next phase of growth for Crown Energy’s developing business.

The project is a 614 km-long pipeline being developed by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to transport natural gas from the south to the northern part of Nigeria.
